We came home and dove into our blue sensory buckets and our blue sensory bottle. For one of the buckets, I did an ocean theme and I put shredded blue paper at the bottom (got the blue wrinkled shredded paper from Dollar Tree), blue glass beads that had different shades of blue in them (they're GORGEOUS!), and some of Grayson's blue bath toys (his blue fish, blue rubber ducky, blue whale, a blue mini cup like thing, and some of Grayson's alphabet fish). We played with that box and got it EVERYWHERE! Haha! Grayson loved that I was letting him make a mess. But with a mess, comes clean up and Grayson did SO well with helping me clean up everything with a fuss, scream, tantrum, nothing! I was so proud of him! We then dove into his other sensory bucket that has all kinds of blue things that I could find around the house (unsharpened pencil, spoons, toys, a straw, a sticker, some Easter bunny ears, just all kinds of things). He had a blast! While he played with that, I started on our crock-pot dinner. I fixed chicken and stuffing! (Recipe at the bottom of this post).
For snack, we had blueberries and blue bug juice. Grayson was NOT a fan of the blueberries. He did try them after I showed him that I was eating them. He threw them all over the floor but helped me clean them up without a fuss. He's seriously the CUTEST when he's cleaning up a mess lol he turns it into a game and it's just so cute! It's the little things that seriously melt my heart with him! We ate dinner and for desert, we had blue jello! That was Grayson's favorite of course! Lol!
I've been trying to limit Grayson's TV time when it comes to his movies to a minimal. We watch 2 movies a day, watch educational episodes, and when we're diving into our sensory buckets, the tv goes off so we can focus on that and that only. I so wish we had the movie The Smurfs because that would be PERFECT for blue week but instead, we watched Rio with the blue macaws. We'll see if we can get the Smurfs one day this week.
Today has just been awesome! We're taking a late bath time right now since I had to go to a Mary Kay meeting tonight which was AWESOME by the way! I've gotten the opportunity to hopefully join BNI through Mary Kay and hopefully be selling Mary Kay. That's for a later blog post though. Also, thank you, Elizabeth, for inviting me and telling me about all of this. You rock! ANY WAY! (I get off track very easily lol).
Grayson LOVED the blue themed bath tub! But there was only ONE mishap! I made a blue bath tub paint with shaving cream and a blue koolaid packet. I got the idea from a mom's blog I've been following. She never mentioned what happens with the koolaid packets. Either that or she just got lucky. IT HAS STAINED GRAYSON'S SKIN BLUE! I have a smurf as a son and I have blue hands too since I played in it with Grayson. OMG! I was able to tone the color down on his skin with his Johnson's baby body wash....but he's still blue. He's still a smurf! Haha nothing like learning colors than BEING the color! Lesson learned! The food coloring in the bath water did GREAT though! Didn't stain our skin at all. But that dang koolaid! Oh Lord! Lol! Learned that the hard way! Sooo! Instead of koolaid packets, we'll be changing the shaving cream color with food coloring from now on. Lol! Epic fail!
Here are some pictures from today! :)
Blue sensory bottle! I absolutely LOVE this one!
Ocean Themed Sensory Bucket
Blue Sensory Bucket
Blueberry Waffles (no I didn't make them haha! They're frozen Eggo waffles! Maybe one day, I'll be this amazing housewife/stay at home mom where I make homemade EVERYTHING haha)
"Mommy even wore blue with me!" :)
Easter bunny ears! Grayson put them on my head and I forgot they were there lol good thing we didn't go out in public haha!
Eating blue jello! :)
He was SO excited about bath time! He usually begs me to take his clothes off for bath time, but tonight he DEMANDED it! Haha!
Don't use Koolaid! Lol! Use food coloring!
lol yeah see what I was talking about how the Koolaid stained your skin?
Ingredients:
- 4 boneless, skinless chicken breasts
- 1 box of Kraft Stove Top Stuffing (I sued the chicken flavored)
- 1 family size can of cream of chicken soup
- 3/4 cup sour cream
Directions:
- Spray your crock-pot with cooking spray
- Place the uncooked chicken at the bottom of your crock-pot
- Pour the box of stuffing over chicken (don't cook the stuffing before hand. The crock-pot will do that for you)
- In a separate bowl, mix together the cream of chicken soup and sour cream until blended well
- Pour cream of chicken soup and sour cream over the stuffing
- Cook on high for 4 hours if chicken is frozen or low for 4 hours if chicken is thawed
That simple. It's really good! :)
Update on the sensory bottles:
The colored confetti changed the color of the bottles so the water in the green bottle is now green, the pink is pink, and so on. But it looks even cooler! The water in the rainbow bottle on the other hand, is pink and it just took the rainbowyness away but that's ok. We also added blue glitter, blue buttons, and other blue beads to the blue sensory bottle and green glitter flakes, green buttons, and other green beads to the green bottles. It made the bottle have a sound to it and they're just so cool! They're my two new favorites now!
